How Pilates Helped Me Reconnect with My Body After Baby
Jul 28, 2025
When I started creating for others, I ended up healing myself.
After having a baby, everything changes—especially your relationship with your body.
I didn’t rush back into movement after birth. In fact, I waited a long time. And honestly? That pause was the best thing I could’ve done for my recovery.
When I finally felt ready to return to Pilates, I didn’t start with a strict routine or a full calendar—I started with creativity. I started by building something that I hoped would help other moms feel strong, supported, and connected again.
And in doing that, I found myself again, too.
🍑 Peachy Pilates Was Born From My Own Recovery
At that time, I was still navigating the physical and emotional shifts of postpartum. But once I allowed myself to focus on what I love—movement, and helping others through movement—something shifted.
I started creating the Peachy Pilates program. It was gentle but powerful, intentional but energizing. It was built around core work, glute activation, balance, and breath—all of which were exactly what my body needed, too.
Because I had waited so long to return, my body was ready to take on the challenge—but only with care.
This wasn’t a “bounce back.” This was a rebuild.
🧠 This Was the First Time I Truly Learned How to Connect
Even after years of teaching Pilates in person, this was the season that changed everything for me.
Through the creation and practice of Peachy Pilates, I finally learned how to:
-
Rebuild my core slowly and intentionally
-
Connect my breath to my movement
-
Move with purpose, instead of pressure
-
Truly tune in to what my body was asking for
This wasn’t just about fitness—it was about presence.
I began to feel my body again. To appreciate what it could do. To let go of guilt and lean into grace.
🤍 Helping Others Helped Me Heal
I’ve always loved creating programs and tools that support other women. But this time, the process of creating wasn’t just for them. It was for me.
Pouring my heart into Peachy Pilates gave me purpose during a time I felt really lost in my body. And every movement I designed—every cue, every breath, every rep—I did with intention. For the women who needed to rebuild, just like I did.
And somewhere along the way, I rebuilt too.
Final Thoughts: Healing Comes When You Do What You Love
My postpartum Pilates journey didn’t begin with a calendar. It began with creativity. With connection. With a quiet decision to show up and move in a way that felt good again.
Peachy Pilates brought me home to my body.
And it continues to do that for the women inside The Pilates Mom Studio every single day.
If you’re in a season where you feel disconnected, just know—you don’t have to force it.
You don’t have to do it perfectly.
You just have to begin.
And maybe, just maybe, the healing will follow.
